6 Weeks Old

Yesterday, the boys had the puppies out in the yard playing so I took my chance to snap some pictures since the puppies are 6 weeks old! They're not quite as easy to get pictures of at this age because they are so active and busy exploring.
Carver trying to help me get pictures! L to R: Lucy (McKinley), Perry and Sydney (Kenai)

My little helper, Brody, bringing the basket over for the puppies

 {PERRY}
Perry is a sweetie. He loves to snuggle and has the shortest little legs- it's so cute!

Not going to stay in one place for long...

Running to me for a snuggle :)
Perry and Sydney watching Brody play in the sandbox.
It's a little hard to tell in pictures, but Perry has a beautiful coat with almost-silvery highlights!

Here we got him to sit for a second again.

{Sydney} (Kenai)

Such a pretty girl! I love her unique coloring and white markings.

Snuggles with Brody!
Sydney is on the L and Lucy is on the R.

Notice her pretty red ears.

Brody definitely likes Sydney K. (We added the "K" because her original name was Kenai and we have a Sydney, too. So the boys wanted something to help us keep them apart. :)

Sydney and Pearl exploring the flower beds.

{Pearl}
She is such a pretty poser! I love her curly buff coat with red highlights.

Pearl was trying to make friends with our cat, but Arrow wasn't sure she wanted to be befriended. ;)

She's so gentle and sweet.

And playful! Pearl and Kelly (Denali) giving Carver kisses!

{Kelly} (Denali)

Kelly's curly red coat with white markings is so beautiful!

On the go!

Running with Carver

Though she's an explorer, she's the one who finds the corner to hide and take a nap. She wiggled her way behind that bucket and was going to nap, but it was time for pictures, so Brody got her out to play! :)

She's a beauty!

{Lucy} (McKinley)

She still has that sweet baby face!
The attempt of getting her to pose....
It did not work. She definitely had other plans!

She is a snuggler too! And Brody loves snuggles.

I love her beautiful, red coat!

And one more picture of each....

Why Alaskan Puppy Names?

We decided to give our puppies names of landmarks and islands in Alaska because, Lord willing, our family will be moving up there this year! My husband, Dwight, has been training to be a missionary bush pilot for over 6 years. We found a mission in Alaska where Dwight can finish his training while we serve there.

Most people know Alaska for its idyllic beauty, but few fully appreciate the difficulty of transportation and access.  There are more than 230 villages inaccessible except by the sea or air.

Across Alaska’s roadless wilderness, Americans live in third-world conditions. The rich native culture has been overwhelmed by alcoholism, teen suicide, joblessness, and spiritual darkness.

The mission is MARC, which stands for Missionary Aviation Repair Center

Our purpose is
"to impact remote Alaska with the hope of Jesus Christ through missionary aviation."

Carver and Brody in front of one of MARC's King Airs.

These planes fly children to summer Bible camps every summer. It's a highlight every year!

For some children, it's their first time out of their remote village and their first time to hear of the hope and love of Jesus!

The pilots at MARC also fly missionaries, ministry groups, pastors, etc. at a reduced cost to the remote villages of Alaska.

If you want to follow us on this adventure, you can ask to join "Our Little Journey" on Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/506713576057251/ ) and/or e-mail me and ask to get our newsletters.

We got to visit Alaska last summer, as well as last winter. It was really neat to see both seasons and the beauty of each!
The last few winters in Soldotna, Alaska have only been a little colder than our Pennsylvania winters.

Not a great picture, but this is one of the reasons the boys are so excited about the move- MOOSE! We saw 9 in our 3 weeks there. Three of them trotted right past Dwight and the boys while they were out in the yard!

While we were there last December, Dwight got to
fly out to one of the remote villages.

Check out www.marcalaska.org for more information on the ministry!
They work closely with Samaritan's Purse.

“As a pilot and a preacher of the Gospel, I have a special appreciation for our friends and partners at the Missionary Aviation Repair Center.  As much as I trust their technical expertise, I value their commitment to evangelism and share their heart for the people of Alaska.”

- Franklin Graham, President & CEO, Samaritan’s Purse

And in case you're wondering, yes, Cassie and Sydney will be moving with us! :)

Puppies, Puppies, Puppies! 4 Weeks Old

Look at all these sweet puppies! Can you tell which one belongs to you? :)

My little helpers carrying the puppies out for the pictures, and mama Cassie making sure her babies are ok! :)

Here is sweet Lucy (McKinley). She found her forever home on Monday!

Lucy getting snuggled by Brody! I love how she snuggles right in. She is a sweetie!
Such a pretty lil pup!

Carver (5) loves helping care for the puppies! Here he is with Perry and Lucy.

Oh that teddy bear face <3

His family, who picked him out as soon as he was born, named him Perry.
The name worked perfectly because we learned that Perry is an island in Alaska, and we were planning to name them all Alaskan names!

Such a handsome lil guy with a very sweet and cuddly personality!

Sweet Pearl found her forever family today!

Pearl is the name of an island in Alaska, as well, and fit nicely with Perry.

I love this picture of her checking out our dog, Sydney!

My little helper. The puppies seem to enjoy the snuggles from our boys. :)

We are excited to introduce Pearl to her family on Saturday; she's a dear!

Puppies, puppies, puppies! Such fun!

Trying to get a picture of all of them at once... That was a challenge!
In case you need help figuring out which one is your puppy,
L to R is Perry, Kenai, Denali, Pearl and Lucy

Here is Kenai (pronounced: "Kee-nie")
The Kenai Peninsula is where we will be living in Alaska in the near future!

Kenai is the calmest, most snuggly, chubby puppy ever!

She is laid back and a bit timid right now, but that's how her mommy was as a small puppy, too;
and now mama Cassie is extremely outgoing and friendly!

To say Carver loves this pup is an understatement!
"Mom, take a picture of me kissing her!"

Denali, Pearl and Kenai

Oh, Denali, how can you be so pretty?!

She is a go-getter, always exploring!

We look forward to introducing her to her family on Saturday, as well!

Even though she's the most active of the bunch, she's a snuggler, too!

Brody will turn 4 on April 12, the day before the puppies are ready to go to their new homes!

The pups are very loved by our family <3
