Sophie and Finley had their first litter of puppies last month! There are so many beautiful colors and they are so sweet! With 9 puppies (5 males and 4 females), Sophie is a busy mama and we are busy, too!
Here they are, just a day old.
Sophie has been a good mama (And I love her silvery and black curls)! She has a lot of babies to care for. The first couple weeks they need fed every couple hours and take a long time to eat; she was so patient with them! I spent pretty many hours sitting with her, too, making sure all the puppies got a turn eating, especially the smallest ones.
Here are the males: Rover, Ferrari, Bently, Dodge, and Hummer. They're 12 days old in this picture. A couple were starting to open their eyes, but most were a full 2 weeks until their eyes opened.
And the females: Mercedes, Tesla, Shelby, and Lexus. So snuggly 💕
Here they all fell sleep in a clothes basket while we were cleaning their pen. 🥰 You can see the variety of colors here! ( Tesla doesn't have gray-- it's just a shadow.) They're 3 weeks old here. I love seeing how much they develop each week!
Another picture of them piled in a clothes basket when we took them outside for some playtime and to get some pictures of each one. 😍 They're 4 weeks old.
Miss Lexus is a beautiful dark merle color with hints of brown around her nose, brows and feet, just like her mama has. She is a sweetie and loves to give kisses.
Tesla is a beautiful buff colored puppy. She's going to a family in remote Alaska, so she'll get a ferry ride with her owner to her new home!
Mercedes has the most beautiful markings, just like her mama! Her family loved her mama, Sophie's colors, and were so thankful that even though they had third pick, she was still available for them!
Rover has the sweetest face and is a beautiful red color with white markings. I love his curly coat, too!
Shelby is the smallest of the females. She's black with tan (phantom) markings. The boys love her because she is rambunctious and playful, but when you pick her up, she calms right down and snuggles.
The puppies that look curly already will most likely have tighter curls when they're grown; but all the puppies will get curlier as they grow their first year and have lots of cute curls when they're grown. (And the cute curls won't shed all over you! 🤩).
